Privacy Policy

Bendlo: Number Path Puzzle · Pyliq Software Inc.
Effective date: November 6, 2026

This policy explains what information the Bendlo app and the website at bendlo.app collect, why, who receives it, and the choices you have. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Pyliq Software Inc., a company based in British Columbia, Canada, which makes Bendlo and is responsible for your information.

The short version

  • You play without an account. We never ask for your name, email or phone number.
  • Your puzzles, streaks and settings are stored only on your device. Bendlo has no servers of its own that hold your game data.
  • We collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports to fix problems and make the puzzles better.
  • The free version shows ads from Google. Ads are personalised only if you allow it.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • Uninstalling the app deletes everything on your device. To ask us about anything else, email privacy@bendlo.app.

1. Information we collect

Game data on your device

Your progress, streaks, hint balance, personal bests and settings (such as text size, sounds and reminder time) are saved on your device only. We cannot see them.

Daily reminders

If you turn on the daily reminder, your phone schedules it itself. The reminder time stays on your device and is not sent to us.

Usage statistics

We record how the app is used, for example when a puzzle is started or finished, how long it took, how many hints were used, which screens were opened and which settings were changed. These records are tied to a random code the app creates, not to your name or email. They also include basic technical details: device model, operating system, app version, language, and your approximate country, which our provider works out from your IP address. Our usage statistics provider is PostHog.

Crash reports

If the app crashes or hits an error, a report goes to our crash reporting provider, Sentry. It contains technical details such as device model, operating system, app version and what the app was doing at the time. It does not contain your name or contact details.

Advertising

The free version of Bendlo shows ads through Google AdMob. Google may collect your device’s advertising ID (only if you allow it), your IP address, an approximate location worked out from it, and which ads were shown and tapped. See Ads, consent and tracking for your choices.

Purchases

Bendlo Plus is bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google take the payment; we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to confirm and restore purchases. RevenueCat receives a random app user code and your purchase record from the store.

Messages you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply.

This website

The website at bendlo.app is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks. The website uses no cookies, analytics or advertising, and loads nothing from other companies.

What we don’t collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.

2. Why we use it

  • To run the game, including streaks, hints and Bendlo Plus.
  • To find and fix bugs and crashes, and keep the app fast.
  • To see which puzzles are too easy or too hard, and improve the game, using statistics about how it is played.
  • To show ads in the free version, count them and prevent ad fraud.
  • To confirm and restore purchases.
  • To reply when you contact us.
  • To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping tax records.

We use information only for these purposes. We do not make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Legal bases (Europe, the UK and Switzerland). We rely on your consent for personalised ads; on providing the game and the purchases you ask for (our contract with you); on our legitimate interest in keeping the game working and improving it for usage statistics and crash reports; and on legal obligations for tax records. You can withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything done before.

3. Ads, consent and tracking

  • Europe, the UK and Switzerland: before any ad is shown, the app asks for your consent using Google’s consent tool. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices.
  • iPhone and iPad: the app asks for permission to track using Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. It asks after your first puzzle, never as soon as the app opens. You can change this at any time in your device’s Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device’s settings.
  • If you say no, you will still see ads, but they won’t be personalised. Google may still use limited data to show ads, limit how often you see the same one, measure them and prevent fraud.
  • Bendlo Plus removes all ads.

Rewarded videos are always your choice. To learn how Google uses information, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

4. Who receives information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers below, only for the purposes in this policy, and under contracts that require them to protect it.

Service providers
Provider What they do
Google (AdMob) Ads and ad consent in the free version
Apple and Google App stores and payments
RevenueCat Confirming and restoring purchases
PostHog Usage statistics
Sentry Crash reports
Cloudflare Website hosting and security

Google, as an ad provider, also uses some information for its own purposes as described in its policy linked above. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a merger or sale of our business; in that case this policy keeps applying to your information.

5. Where information is stored

We are based in Canada. Our service providers store information mainly in the United States, and some may process it in other countries, where the law may let government authorities access it. We choose providers that protect information to a standard comparable to Canadian law. When information about people in Europe, the UK or Switzerland is transferred, we rely on safeguards the law recognises, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

6. How long it is kept

  • Data on your device stays until you uninstall the app.
  • Usage statistics are deleted after 12 months at most.
  • Crash reports are deleted after 90 days at most.
  • Purchase records are kept while you might need to restore Bendlo Plus, and as long as tax law requires.
  • Emails you send us are kept for as long as we need them to help you.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Delete your game data: uninstall the app. This removes everything stored on your device.
  • Ads: change your ad consent in Settings → Ad privacy choices (shown where your region requires it), your tracking permission in iOS Settings, or your advertising ID in Android settings.
  • Reminders: turn the daily reminder off in Settings, or turn off notifications for Bendlo in your device’s settings.
  • Ask us: you can ask for access to, a copy of, correction of or deletion of personal information we hold about you, by emailing privacy@bendlo.app.

Because Bendlo doesn’t know who you are, we may not be able to link a request to the usage statistics or crash reports from your device. We will tell you if that happens, and those records are deleted automatically on the schedule above anyway.

Depending on where you live, you may have other rights, such as to object to or restrict some uses, to withdraw consent, or to data portability. We may need to confirm that a request comes from you. We reply within 30 days, or sooner if your local law requires.

United States residents

Depending on your state (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or Texas), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to get a copy of it, to correct or delete it, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money, but showing personalised ads in the free version may count as “sharing” under some state laws. To opt out, use Settings → Ad privacy choices, turn off tracking in iOS Settings, or delete your advertising ID in Android settings; ads will then not be personalised. We do not knowingly share the personal information of anyone under 16 for targeted advertising. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. An authorised agent may also make a request for you.

Complaints

If you’re not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca), the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec if you live in Quebec, or the data protection authority where you live.

8. Coming later: online features

These features are not in the app yet. We describe them so you know what to expect. When they arrive, they will be optional, the app will explain them first, and we will update this policy before they go live.

  • Groups and leaderboards: the app would sign in to our servers (provided by Supabase) with an anonymous account. If you create or join a group, we would store the nickname and avatar colour you choose, your groups, your time zone and your daily results (date, time taken, hints used and streak). Members of your groups would see your nickname, avatar colour and results.
  • Saving progress with Apple or Google: if you choose to sign in, we would receive an account identifier and, depending on your choices, an email address (Apple may give us a private relay address), used only to back up and restore your progress.
  • Invite codes: the app would read your clipboard only when you tap Paste to enter a code. On Android, if you installed Bendlo from an invite link, the app would read that invite code from Google Play when it first opens.
  • Reminders from our servers: we would store your push notification token, time zone and reminder time so reminders and group updates arrive at a sensible local time. Expo would deliver these notifications.
  • Deleting online data: Settings → Delete my data would delete your account and everything on our servers right away (and from backups within 7 days), and reset the app on your device.

9. Children

Bendlo is made for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We protect information with reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections and providers with strong security practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information, and if a breach could seriously harm you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Bendlo changes. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they take effect.

12. Contact us

Our Privacy Officer is responsible for how we handle your information and will answer any question or request about it.
